LED sign base instructions.

The following are assembly instructions for the LED edge lit sign bases that we sell at : http://www.decorandafter.com/

Unpacking the box.

The box contains a light base with end caps, Power cord with switch, 2 steel pins and a rubber strip.

Remove both end caps.

This is the acrylic sheet I engraved and cut out on an Epilog laser. I won't get into the setting and such as they will vary depending on the machine used. Note on the bottom edge we cut 2 holes to slide the steel pins into.

On my laser I cut them .087" diameter. It is nice to get the pins tight. This diameter will probably vary some from laser to laser. The should be 3/8" from center of hole to bottom of acrylic sheet.

I still have the masking on the back of the sheet which will come off now. The photo was reversed so the etching is on the back of the sheet instead of the front. This is personal preference.

I like to get the sheet to sit close to the light but I have actually killed some of the lights trying to jam the sheet in too tightly. The above works well.

We also like to put the pins on the far ends as to not block any of the light from shining upward.

Slide the pins in.

Slide the acrylic sheet with the pins installed into the second channel from the top.

Lay the O-ring cord in the groove between the acrylic sheet and the base. Work it into the groove with your thumb. This tightens everything up and makes the panel sit nice and straight.

Cut off the excess O-ring material with a razor blade flush on each end. You can see it here in the top groove between the base and the acrylic.

Snap the ends back in place.

Plug the base into the power cord, plug the power cord into the wall and flip the switch. Your done !!

This picture was taken with the camera flash on.

This picture was taken with the camera flash off.

Using the pins would also allow you to remover the feet and put a chain from hole to hole in the bottom of the base to hang these upside down.

I would like to give a big thank you to Steve Wallace from Sawmillcreek.org for his help in making these work nicely. The creek is a great place to frequent if you own a laser.
